Prof. Mohsen Mohebi

Dr.Mohsen Mohebi, the Grade 1 attorney-at-law, member of Bar Association of Tehran and legal advisor, is an eminent Iranian jurist. He enjoys long legal professional carrier and backgrounds, suffice to mention the following:

Prominent arbitrator, member of International Court of Arbitration of International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC), university professor in the fields of international law and arbitration, ex-head of Bureau of International Legal Services (BILS) in The Hague, member of Iran Arbitration Association, ex-member of Arbitration Tribunals of Stock Exchange, Metals and Agricultural Goods Stock Exchange in Tehran.

Mr Mohsen Mohebi obtained his PhD degree in international law from Louvain-la-Neuve University of Belgium, and M.A. in the fields of private law from Shahid Beheshti University. Mr Mohebi participated in the Public and Private International Laws Courses, offered by International Law Academy of the Hague (the Netherlands). Mr Mohebi is also the editor-in-chief of the Law Journal, the first Iranian journal in international law published by “BILS” (now CILA). He is the author of several books and has written more than 50 articles in the fields of international arbitration and commercial law topics. Among his books are “The International Law Character of Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal” in English (published by Kluwer Law International), “Arbitration System of International Chamber of Commerce”, “The Algeria Declaration” and among his translations are “Legal Aspects of Import and Export”, and “Arbitration and State Enterprises”, “Philosophy of International law”, UNCITRAL Rules and Arbitration.

Dr Mohsen Mohebi has been appointed as Secretary-General of ACIC since October 2005.
